Hleb "na kasiku"/Spoon bread

Please scroll down for English version

Ako volite proju i kukuruzni hleb sigurno cete voleti i ovaj Spoon bread!!!

Potrebno:
3 solje mleka
150 gr sitnog kukuruznog brasna
3 jaja (sobne temperature)
2 kasike istopljenog maslaca
1 3/4 kasicice praska za pecivo
1 kasicica soli

solja = 2,5 dl

Miksati, srednjom brzinom miksera, 15 minuta.

Napravila sam tri greske, jaja mi nisu bila sobne temperature i nisam ih umutila, a nisam ni miksala masu punih 15 minuta...

English version:
Spoon bread
(adapted from here)

3 cups whole milk

1 1/4 cups (5 1/2 ounces) cornmeal
(white corn meal if you can find it)
3 eggs
at room temperature, beaten
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

Preheat your oven to 375. In a medium sauce pan, bring the milk to the boil. Then, while stirring, add the corn meal in a steady stream (if you've ever made polenta, you'll recognize this process). Take the pan off the heat and set it aside, allowing the mixture to cool to room temperature. It will be very cold and firm at that point. Be not dismayed. Put the mixture into the bowl of an electric mixer, add the beaten eggs, melted butter, salt and baking powder. Beat at medium speed for 15 minutes. Pour into a buttered casserole or 9" cake round, and bake for 30 minutes. Serve at the table, straight from the pan.

Pileci zalogaji/Chicken bites

Please scroll down for English version

2 komada pilecih prsa (bez kosti i koze)
350 gr tanko secene slanine
400 gr mlevene piletine
1 jaje
so, biber i zacini po ukusu
aluminijumska folija

Zaciniti.

 Rasporediti piletinu preko slanine.

Piletinu premazati pripremljenim mlevenim mesom.

Pazljivo, uz pomoc folije, urolati meso. Pricvstiti rub i oba kraja. Zatim povezati rolat kuhinjskim koncem.

Pazljivo seci parcice 2-3 cm sirine.

Poredjati rolnice u pleh i peci oko 40-ak minuta.

Kombinujte kako vam odgovara :)

Kako napraviti fondant vozic/How to make a fondant train

Please scroll down for English version

mali noz
tylo lepak ili voda
veining tool (ako nemate upotrebite noz)
kist
jestive boje
okrugli nastavci za ukrasavnje razlicitih velicina

Obojite fondant (gum paste) u dve razlicite boje.

U medjuvremenu uzmite manji komadic fondanta i oblikujte ga u lopticu.

Zatim, razvaljajte komadic fondanta (gum paste) malo deblje (oko 4-5 mm).

English version:
How to make a fondant train
(original tutorial (changed a little), adapted from here)

gum paste or fondant

rolling pin
a pair of fondant smoothers or knife
cornstarch duster
small knife
tylo glue or water
veining tool (Jem) (if you dont have such tool, then just use a knife)
paint brush
gel paste colors
round piping tips in various sizes. (circle cutters can also be used)

Start by coloring in the gum paste or fondant for the trains “body” in your chosen color (2 colors). Take a piece of gum paste and roll it into a smooth ball without any cracks. Then place the ball on your work table and roll it into a thick sausage about 3″ long. This will be the “base” for the train. Take your pair of fondant smoothers or knife and flatten all the sides. Flatten one of the short ends with the fondant smoother. Set aside to dry a little.
Take another piece of gum paste, again roll it into a smooth ball. Then roll it into a short sausage on your work table. It should cover about 2″ of the “base”. Flatten the ends with the fondant smoothers.
Next, roll another smooth ball of gum paste and form it into a block. It should be slightly taller than the “front” part, and about 1″ wide. Flatten the sides with the fondant smoothers. Attach with a little tylo glue (if you working with gum paste) or water (if you working with fondant). Then, brush a little tylo glue (water) on the “base” and attach the “sausage” on top of the angled end.
Roll out some gum paste thinly and cut out 2 small windows for each side of the train. Glue them on with tylo glue.
Roll out some gum paste (about 4-5mm thick) and roll it out large enough to cut wheels, roof and front “base” for the train.
Cut out a square piece of gum paste for the roof and glue it on with tylo glue.
Cut a strip of fondant and cut the ends slightly slanted. Next make indentations in the gum paste with either a veining tool or a knife. Glue it on the angle front with tylo glue.
Find 2 different sizes of piping tips or circle cutters and cut out 1 pair of large and 2 pair of small wheels. I have used round piping tips to emboss the center of the wheels. Set the wheels aside to dry. Then, glue on the wheels.
Take a small piece of gum paste. If it sticks to your hands, then rub hands with a little cornstarch. First roll a small ball, and glue it on with tylo glue on top of the train (not shown). Make the chimney by rolling some gum paste into a large pea size ball and then roll it into a cone.
Rub some more cornstarch on your fingers. Slowly pinch the “thick” end of the cone all the way around. While you pinch, press down in the middle of the cone with your index finger. So that it get slightly holloi. Trim a little of the end, so that the chimney can stand upright. Attach it on the train with a little tylo glue. Set aside and let the whole train dry completely.
If you like, you can make small train wagons aswell for your train cake topper. Make them out of a ball of gum paste, that you shape into a block. Flatten all the sides with the fondant smoothers and attach some wheels.
Tip! It looks very sweet placing birthday candles on the train wagons.

Krompir piroske/Potato Pierogi

Please scroll down for English version

500 gr belog krompira
50 gr margarina
2 zumanca
250 ml mleka
1 kasika secera
2 kasicice soli
1 kvasac
650 gr brasna
2 dl kisele pavlake

Potrebno za premazivanje:
2 zumanca
malo ulja
i jos 200 gr margarina

Priprema:
Obariti krompir u ljusci, oljustiti ga pa mu dodati margarin i napraviti pire. U prohladjen pire dodati 2 zumanca.

250 ml milk
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons salt
40 gr fresh yeast
650 gr flour

2 dl sour cream

Topping:

In the lukewarm milk add sugar, salt and fresh yeast. Let stand for 10 minutes.
Then, add yeast to potato mixture. Add half part flour and knead the dough. Gradually add enough flour to create a soft dough (reserve litlle flour for a dusting work surface). Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Remove dough from bowl and place on a floured work surface. Roll out the dough 1 cm thick. Spread the sour cream over the surface of the dough and cut into small rectangles. Place each rectangle, one by one, over your hand (dough will be sticky) and shape it into roll. Pinch the ends together (3 sides) to seal the dough together.
Place Pierogies on a parchment lined baking sheets. Mix egg yolks with little oil and spread Pierogies.
Cut frozen margarine into slices and place between Pierogies (on all four sides).
Bake in the oven preheated to 200 degrees C for 30 minutes. Let them cool a little, separate and then serve.

1 zumance
1 kasicica ekstrakta vanile
malo soli
rendana cokolada, prah cokolada

Pileca krilca sa medom/Honey Chicken Wings

Please scroll down for English version

Potrebno:
1/3 solje ulja
1/4 solje meda
1/4 solje soya sosa
1/4 solje Dijon senfa
1/4 solje soka od limuna
4 cena protisnutog belog luka
12 pilecih krilaca
(solja je od 2,5 dl)

Priprema:
Povremeno promesati.
Posluziti toplo.

Backa strudla/Twist strudel

Please scroll down for English version

Testo:
1 kg brasna
40 gr kvasca
2 kasicice soli
1 kasicica secera
6 dl mleka
1 dl ulja

Fil:
2 pune kasike masti (maslac)
5 kasike secera
4 zumanca

100 gr mlevenog maka
5 kasika secera
100 gr chocolate

Priprema:
Rastopiti kvasac u 2 dl toplog mleka, dodati kasicicu secera i malo brasna. U vecoj ciniji izmesati brasno, so, 4 dl toplog mleka, ulje i nadosli kvasac. Zamesiti meko testo, podeliti na dva jednaka dela, prekriti krpom i ostaviti da odmori oko pola sata.
Zagrejati rernu na 200 stepeni.
Na stolnjaku, oklagijom, razviti jednu polovinu testa u sto veci krug, a zatim prstima istanjiti krajeve testa.

Varjacom dobro izraditi mast (maslac), zumanca i secer (ostaviti par kasika za premaz gotovih strudli). U drugoj ciniji izmesati mleveni mak i secer. A u trecu ciniju izrendati cokoladu.

Pricvrstiti krajeve.

English version:
Twist strudel

Dough:
1 kg all purpose flour
40 gr fresh yeast
2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
6 dl milk
1 dl oil

Filling:
2 full tablespoon of pork fat or butter
5 tablespoon sugar
4 egg yolks

100 gr ground poppy seed
5 tablespoon sugar
100 gr chocolate
Dissolve yeast in the 2 dl of milk, add 1 teaspoon sugar and litt flour.

Combine flour, 2 teaspoon salt, 4 dl lukewarm milk and oil in mixing bowl, add yeast mixture. Mix thoroughly with hands (dough should be soft). Divide the dough into 2 pieces, cover with a cloth and set in a warm place to rise about 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C.
Cover a table with a smooth cloth and put one dough piece onto it. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out into a larger circle. Then, put your hands, palms down, under the dough and gently stretch the edge with the backs of your hands.
Mix with the wooden spoon pork fat, sugar and egg yolks until well blended. Reserve lit.
Mix with the spoon grounded poppy seed and sugar.
Grate chocolate.
Spread the pork fat (butter) mixture over the surface of the dough and sprinkle with poppy seed and sugar. Then, roll up the doug into the strudel, fold in half and twist. Seal the ends.
Make other strudel on the same way (use chocolate). Brush with reserved pork fat mixture and bake for about 40 minutes. After 15 minutes cover with parchment paper. Let cool for serving.

You can use nuts, chocolate, cinnamon or something else instead of poppy seed or you can just spread dough with the pork fat (butter) mixture without any filling. If you want strudel without filling then add a little more pork fat, sugar and egg yolks.

Puno vas pozdravljam i unapred se radujem vasim radovima!!!
